Concave Shoes

At present, the range of Handmade Shoes concave has over 220 models in the following sections • 5/8” x 3/8” (16mm x 10mm) • 3/4” x 5/16” (20mm x 8mm) • 3/4” x 3/8” (20mm x 10mm) • 3/4” x 7/16” (20mm x 11mm) • 7/8” x 3/8” light (21mm x 9mm) • 7/8” x 3/8” (22mm x 10mm) • 7/8” x 7/16” (22mm x 11mm) • 1” x 7/16” (25mm x 11mm)   Within the majority of these sections front shoes are available unclipped, toe clipped or side clipped and hinds are available unclipped or side clipped.   FRONT side clipped FRONT unclipped FRONT toe clipped HIND side clipped

• Close in quality to a hand-forged shoe • Symmetrical, elliptical shape • Easy to fit upright heels • Precision Nail holes • Unique bob punched clips • Hinds are sided with safed inside heel and toe • Side clipped fronts have safed toe for assisted break-over

stud hole location

Stud hole shoes are available in 3/4” x 3/8”, 3/4” x 7/16”, 7/8” x 3/8” and 7/8” x 7/16”. The stud holes are punched not drilled so that the ground surface has a solid shoulder in preparation for threading. Shoes are not threaded at point of manufacture so prevent distortion whilst shaping.

Polo shoes are available in 3/4” x 3/8” hinds with one stud hole punched in the very end of the outside heel to comply with Polo Association rules.

Sizes relate to length of steel - for example; a No. 7 is made from 12 1/2” of steel (318 mm).  Shoes start at 9 inches (229mm) and increase in 1/2” (13mm) increments.  This means that there is no huge increase between shoe sizes ensuring that every equine can be fitted with the correct size shoe.
